Roller Flour Millers’ Federation of India (RFMFI) was established in the year 1940 with a view to create a national platform for the roller flour milling industry in the country.

RFMFI is the only registered and recognised apex body representing the flour milling industry under the organised sector with over 1800 direct /indirect millers located in different and distant parts of the country through 16 state associations.
A humble beginning some eight decades ago has grown many folds today and has an active and effective representation in all the states.

RFMFI today is the real mouthpiece of the industry representing the industry related issues at the appropriate platforms and voicing its vows besides working for amicable solutions to the issues raised promoting the mutual interest.

As the industry processes almost 33% of national wheat production producing Atta, Maida, Sooji & Bran catering to the basic food requirement of living beings besides feeding the wheat based food industry like Bakery & Confectionery etc. both at home and abroad.

This journey since 1940 has built a strong bridge between the policy makers and the industry, earning a level of confidence among the fellow member millers and a strong sense of trustworthy partner with the policy makers.

Vision and Mission

In the year 1940 when India was a net importer of wheat and imported sizeable quantity of wheat to meet its domestic food requirement, Federation represented the grinding facility and the industry’s requirement to feed wheat based food industry (like confectionery and bakery etc.) in the country.

Today when India has established itself as the second largest producer of wheat contributing almost 12.5% of the global wheat production, Indian flour milling industry has also attained new dimensions and responsibility both for the industry and the consumer. Its operational sphere has also expanded across the border with global partnerships and associations.

Prestigious Projects

Supporting Mission Nutrition

Roller Flour Millers’ Federation of India is proud to be associated with international organizations like Nutrition International (NI) and Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) promoting Nutrition through Fortification. RFMFI has successfully partnered and implemented fortification of wheat flour ensuring regular intake of basic requisite nutrients like Iron, Folic Acid and Vitamin B12 in the states with reported comparatively poor nutritional status. The states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh were provided fortified wheat flour both through open market and public funded programs like PDS, MDM and ICDS etc. which cater to the more vulnerable sections of the Society. Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Delhi had fortified wheat flour from the open market wherein the milling industry had voluntarily supported this noble cause, working towards a better and healthier nation for tomorrow.
